Dave Myers is the Assistant Superintendent for Data, Research and Technology for the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE). Dr. Myers has a passion for 'Big Data', analytics, and technology. Dr. Myers’ team at the VDOE is responsible for the collection of statewide educational data, research, systems development, project management, and technology. Dr. Myers has a bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University, a master’s in school administration, and a PhD in Educational Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University. Prior to serving as an assistant superintendent at the state level, Dr. Myers served as a K-12 school division superintendent, high school principal, and social studies teacher. Dr. Myers also enjoys teaching school law and ethics in the educational leadership program at the University of Richmond where he has served as adjunct faculty for the past eight years.
Susan M. Williams is the director of the Office of Education Information Management at the
Virginia Department of Education (VDOE). Ms. Williams oversees a quality team of individuals that shapes policy decisions and help educators at all levels gather, analyze, and use data to improve teaching and learning. The effective use of accurate and detailed information on student achievement and other school-quality factors is central to Virginia’s commitment to providing quality instruction for all students.
